Not for reals.

So, I need help, you all. Each year in downtown Mesa, in February, there's a Japanese festival. I went for the first time last year with and Lindsey, whose username I disremember at the moment.
It was TONS OF FUNNNN. Muniki (cryna-chan) cosplayed someone from souleater, and we decided this year we'd cosplay together. And I was at first planning on being Link.
The costume that I found online was perfect, but far too expensive, and I really wanted to have something of it actually done by me.
Then, I decided I'd be an ANBU. My mom got me a kinda cheap costume for Halloween purposes, and it failed. The pictures on the website were FALSE ADVERTISING. They made the costume look better than it was. A lot. For example, the white armor plate things on the arms actually looked solid and stable. When I got the mail, they were just flimsy pieces of cheap cloth. Lame.
So, now, I am without something to cosplay. And February is around the corner.
I'd like an idea by midway through December, or in early January at latest, to be prepared for getting my costume all together.
I cannot think of anything good, though.
I can't sew!
Not really, anyway. I know the basics, but... Ehh.
I could potentially paper mache something, but what?
My first idea was to be Haruhi Suzumiya, because of how simple she is, and that I wouldn't need to change my hair. But there's nothing unique to make for that. Because, once again, I cannot sew.
Help?
I want to be something really awesome, that will look like I put a lot of effort into it.
Maybe I should be someone from Deathnote.
That happens to have brown hair that's shoulder length. I don't want to screw with wigs or hair dye..
I really don't.

If you actually read all of that, kudos to you. I'll draw you something, if you actually bother to make a request. No one ever does... Ahem. Emo moment over. Sorry.
